Contact & About Me

About Me – After working in Paris as an English teacher, my career started out in theatre and TV – I toured with the RSC, dressed Michael Sheen, and I was on the crew of the King’s Speech.

A bout of wanderlust took me to far-flung shores including Indonesia, Vietnam, Japan, Nepal, India and China before returning to London and turning my hand to journalism. I have written for national and regional newspapers and magazines and a host of websites.

Alongside freelance writing and editorial work, I run the marketing side of a media lawa training company et up by my husband and myself six years ago.

About Style and Story – Home is a converted Victorian school in North Yorkshire where I live with my husband and three sons.

It’s a beautiful part of the world with stunning landscapes; breathtaking walks; pretty market towns and villages and a coastline dotted with quaint fishing villages and sweeping sands. Not to mention some great places to eat, drink and shop.

Style and Story is a celebration of all this. I love discovering new places and revisiting favourite haunts to share with others…and I am always in search of the perfect café.

As well as posts about lovely places to visit, you’ll find the occasional creative project too as I enjoy crafts and making. I also love vintage style – a hangover from my theatre days trawling London costume agencies and hire departments, as well as the flea markets of London and Paris.
